Enter Primary Information
On the first step of the Quick Promotion wizard, marketing managers enter the promotion’s name, duration, code, and business unit.

Promotion’s Primary Details
Define the key aspects of the promotion:

| Promotion’s name and objective | Enter the promotion’s internal name and customer-facing display name. Also, enter the promotion’s use case and marketing objectives. |
| Promotion’s priority | Enter the promotion’s priority. If a customer is eligible for multiple promotions, the company’s shopping site lists the eligible promotions based on the priority number. |
| Promotion’s code | Enter the unique code to identify the promotion across systems. |
| Promotion’s duration | Select the start date and end date for the promotion. Customers can apply active promotions on their cart only between the promotion’s start and end date. To run an evergreen promotion, leave the end date blank. |
| Promotion’s business unit | Select the Marketing Cloud business unit that the promotion belongs to. After you design the promotion’s launch email and activate the promotion, a journey is automatically created in the selected business unit. If you don’t select a business unit, you can’t design the promotion’s launch email in the Quick Promotion wizard. If you can’t find the business unit that the promotion belongs to, request your Salesforce admin to connect the business unit with Global Promotions Management in Setup. |
| Promotion’s currency | Select the currency for the promotion. All financial values related to the promotion use the selected currency. |
| Promotion's rule library | Select the active Global Promotions Management type rule library that contains the custom tag mappings for the promotion's context definition. Here are a few scenarios when you must select a rule library for your promotion:
The rule library that you select decides that context tags that are available for you to create promotion eligibility criteria and promotion rule eligibility criteria. If you aren't sure about which rule library to use for your promotion, check with your Salesforce admin. If you don't select a rule library, you can still go ahead and create promotion rules using templates such as Buy X, Get Discount + Rewards and Spend X, Get Unit Price Discount on Y + Rewards. |
Promotion’s Additional Fields
Apart from deciding the promotion’s primary attributes, define other promotion attributes that are key to your promotion’s strategy, such as the promotion’s branding image. The additional fields list also includes custom fields that the admin adds in Salesforce.
What Happens After Moving to the Next Step?
After you enter the primary information about the promotion and go to the next steps, a Promotion record is created in the org.
