Displaying Custom Promotion Information to Customers
After the admin customizes a promotion's context definition to include custom promotion
information, the Eligible Promotions API starts displaying the information from the custom
promotion field in its response. When the API is executed to get the list of promotion's for a
customer's cart, the custom information is displayed for each eligible promotion.
Tip Before admins extend a context definition, they must work with the marketing
managers to decide which custom fields to add in the Eligible Promotions API's response.
Customizing Context Definitions Created by Extending the CartDetailGetEligiblePromotion
Context Definition
Promotion context definitions that are created by extending the standard
CartDetailGetEligiblePromotion context definition contain a node named PromotionCustomField.
Admins can add input type attributes to the PromotionCustomFields node and map the attributes to
the custom Promotion object fields that store the information that marketing managers want to
display to customers.
After admins create the attribute, they must:
Add context tags in camel case for each attribute
Use the standard MapCartValueLoyaltyObjectField mapping to map the attributes to their
corresponding custom field on the Promotion object.
