Turn On Product Catalog Management to Create Attributes and Bundles for Promotions

Turn On Product Catalog Management to Create Attributes and Bundles for Promotions

With Product Catalog Management, product designers can create attributes to capture the characteristics or properties of products, and create bundled products that group items. Marketing managers can create promotions that depend of these attributes and bundled products.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: EnterpriseUnlimited, and Developer Editions with Real-Time Offer Management
          User Permissions Needed
To enable Product Catalog Management: Customize Application

Marketing managers can use the Build Your Own Promotion template to provide attribute-based discounts. For example, define a Color attribute on shirts, and then use the template to provide a discount only on red shirts.

Marketing managers can also define promotions on bundles instead of on individual products. For example, create a meal bundle that comprises a burger, fries, and a soda. Then provide a discount only when users buy the meal bundle.

          Note
Note With Product Catalog Management enabled, marketing managers can't use SKU and code to search for products on the Define Promotion Eligibility step of the Quick Promotion guided flow.
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Global Promotions Management Settings, and then select Global Promotions Management Settings.
          2. Turn on Product Catalog Management.
          3. Click OK.

After you turn on the setting, the Product Catalog Management app is available in the org. Use the app to manage simple and bundled products, and define product attributes. See Product Catalog Management.

Marketing managers can include simple and bundled products in the eligible products list of a pricing promotion.

          Note
Note If you turn off Product Catalog Management, marketing managers can still design promotions that are targeted toward the company's products and categories.

To learn how to set up attribute-based promotions, see Context Definition Customizations for Custom Product Attributes and Configure Rule Libraries for Promotion Context Definitions.
