Permissions to Create Eligible Audience for Promotions

Global Promotions Management provides the capability to decide the eligible audience for promotions. A promotion’s eligible audience can be a Data Cloud segment or members of a campaign. Marketing managers can create targeted segments or campaigns for each promotion and then select the segment or campaign as the promotion’s target audience. Provide marketing managers the permission to create segments and campaigns in the org.

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Real-Time Offer Management

Provide the Permission to Create Data Cloud Segments

To create and activate segments, marketing managers need one of these permission sets:

  • Data Cloud Activation Specialist
  • Data Cloud Activation Manager
  • Data Cloud Architect

If you don’t have the permission to assign Data Cloud permission sets, work with your Data Cloud admin to provide marketing managers the required permission set.

Provide the Permission to Create Campaigns and Add Campaign Members

Business Requirement Action
Marketing manager wants to create a campaign
  • Edit on campaigns
  • Marketing User selected in User Details
Marketing manager wants to add contacts as campaign members
  • Read on campaigns
  • Edit on campaigns
  • Marketing User selected in User Details

If an external system filters and groups your customers, you can help the marketing managers by adding contacts as campaign members. You can add campaign members by:

  • Mapping the filtered customer group to contacts in the org
  • Adding the filtered contacts as members by using reports or the Data Import Wizard
