Preview Mobile Subscriber Details

Before sending, get a subscriber-level preview for mobile messages that use Marketing Cloud Engagement Content Builder. Use Subscriber Preview to see personalization and code rendered for that subscriber.

This feature uses the Content Builder > Assets > Subscriber Preview permission. This permission is enabled by default for Marketing Cloud Engagement Administrator, Viewer, Channel Manager, and Editor/Publisher roles.

Important Previewing SMS messages is only available when performing a Data Extension SMS send, and is usually unavailable for Journey Builder sends which don’t require a Locale Field in the entry data extension to send the message. To select a data extension for a Content Builder message preview, first prepare the data extension for a Data Extension SMS send. See Data Extension Sends.

1. When creating a mobile message in Content Builder or Journey Builder, click Subscriber Preview.
2. To choose which subscribers to preview, click Select Source
3. Select a source and click Select.
4. To preview the personalized message, click through subscribers.
5. To preview the message for different devices and message types, use the dropdowns.
6. To preview the message with a different source, click Change and select another source.
7. To preview with all data, including demographics data, select an app.
8. Click Return to Editor.
