          Unshare Folders and Content

          Unshare Folders and Content

Unshare content from all and select business units in Content Builder.

Unshare Content from All Business Units

          • You can't move a folder from the Shared tree to the Local tree and vice versa. Instead, create a destination folder, then move the folder content to the destination folder.
          • To unshare content from a shared folder, move the content to a folder owned by your business unit in the Local tab.
          • You cannot unshare a parent folder from a business unit that has access to one or more of its subfolders. To unshare a hierarchy of folders from a business unit, start with the subfolders and unshare up through the folder tree.
          • You cannot unshare a folder from a business unit that owns content in that folder. Move or remove the content from the business unit you want to unshare.
          • Always share a folder to at least one business unit in addition to the enterprise business unit. Removing access to all business units results in an error.
          • If an email is shared with Edit Locally permissions, then unshared, , the local edits are deleted from all business units who created local edits from the shared email. To prevent this, a recipient can duplicate the original shared email or the local copy before the original is unshared.
          • Recipient business units cannot use the ContentBlockByName AMPscript function to reference content shared manually outside of a shared folder, as its folder path is not available. To reference this content, use the ContentBlockByKey or ContentBlockByID functions.
          1. Locate the item in the Local tab.
          2. Select the actions drop-down by the item.
          3. Select My Business Unit.
          4. Click Save.

Unshare Content from Specific Business Units

          1. Locate the item in the Local tab.
          2. Select the actions drop-down by the item.
          3. Select My Business Unit.
          4. Click Save.
            Note
Note If an email is shared with Edit Locally permissions, then unshared, the local edits are deleted from all business units who created local edits from the shared email. To prevent this, a recipient can duplicate original shared email or the local copy before the original is unshared. The duplicate should be stored in a local folder instead of a shared folder.
