Create a Smart Capture Form
To start a customer journey with people who submit a form, configure a Smart Capture form and then set it as an entry event in Journey Builder. You can add a Smart Capture form to any landing page in CloudPages.
When you configure the Smart Capture form, store the data in a sendable Event Source data extension.

Create a data
extension using these guidelines.
- Select Create from New, select Is Sendable?, and keep the default retention settings.
- Configure details for each attribute. You can hide or reveal attributes when you create forms later, so include as many relevant data points as you want.
- For the Send Relationship, relate Email Address with Subscriber Key.
- Create or edit a landing page or microsite, and add a Smart Capture block.
- To use the form in a journey, select Use in Journey Builder.
- For Data Target, select Data Extension, and then select the data extension that you created.
- Select the attributes that you want to appear as fields on your form.

If needed, add hidden fields, such as a source name or a
relevant ID.
- Click Add Hidden Attribute.
- Select an available field.
- Enter the value to submit, and then click Done Editing.
- On the Submit Options tab, customize the confirmation message.
- Add other styles or HTML as needed.

You can initiate activities after someone submits a Smart Capture form on a landing page. For example, send a confirmation email or add the person as a lead or contact in Sales Cloud. You can add a Smart Capture form only to a multistep journey.
