Create a Pattern for Marketing Intelligence Data (Beta)

Apply consistency to your data by creating a naming convention (pattern). Using patterns makes data more structured and easier to analyze.

Required Editions

Available in: Developer, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions.
User Permissions Needed
To create a pattern: Marketing Intelligence Admin
Note
Note Patterns is a pilot or beta s ervice that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com or a written Unified Pilot Agreement if executed by Customer, and applicable terms in the Product Terms Directory. Use of this pilot or beta service is at the Customer's sole discretion.
  1. From the App Launcher, search and select Marketing Intelligence.
  2. On the Data Management tab, select Patterns.
  3. Click New Pattern.
  4. Select a data space, name your pattern, select the dimension, add an optional description, and then click Next.
  5. Select a naming convention to base the pattern on from the left side panel.
  6. Select a dimension or create one for each position in your pattern.
  7. To change the applied delimiter, select an option from the dropdown
  8. To extract a position, select Extract.

    Only extracted positions are added to the data model and are reflected in reporting.

  9. Click Publish.

Your pattern is added to the pattern list, where you can monitor, activate and deactivate it.
