Create Data Pipelines With Third-Party Vendors

Connect to a marketing data source by setting up a data pipeline. After creating a data pipeline, DLOs, DMOs, and transforms are generated and automatically connect your data to the data model. You can monitor the pipeline’s performance and health through the Pipeline Record Page.

To create a new connection Marketing Intelligence Data Specialist
  1. From the app launcher, find and select Marketing Intelligence.
  2. On the Data Pipeline tab, click New Pipeline.
  3. Select a connector and then click Next.
  4. Select a connection and then click Next.
  5. Create a new connection.
    1. Click New Connection
    2. Enter a connection name.
    3. Select a named credential. If required, click Authenticate and complete the authentication process.
    4. To add a new named credential, click + New Named Credential, and complete the connection process with the provider.
    5. Enter the remaining required fields. Required fields vary by provider.
  6. Select the data space.
  7. To view the data sets and how they are mapped in Marketing Intelligence select the Data Sets tab (1).
  8. To customize data fields and refine segmentation, select the Extended Attributes tab (2).
  9. To schedule when the data pipeline runs, select the Run Schedule tab (3) and set the start date. The time zone is determined by the data space.

  10. Customize field mapping.
    1. Under Mapping select Custom, and then click Custom Mapping.
    2. Map the fields as needed.
  11. Add a new data object.
    1. Click + New Object.
    2. Enter a name and description, and then click Add.
      The object is created with three default fields: ID, Currency, and Name. Map the fields as needed.
    3. To add additional fields to the data object, click the + icon next to the object.
    4. Enter a field name and description, select a data type and then click Add.
      The field is added to the object and is available for mapping.

      The source and target data types must match to complete the mapping.

  12. To validate the mapping, click Validate.
  13. Click Save and Deploy and then review the mappings.
  14. Click Deploy

The pipeline appears in the table, where you can monitor performance and health from the Pipeline Record Page.
