In-App Message Priority Best Practices
When you send an in-app message in Content Builder, you can add a priority. The message priority determines which message appears first when you send multiple in-app messages. The highest priority is 1.
In-App Message Priority Examples
- When a device has two priority 1 messages, the most recently modified message appears first. The next priority 1 message appears in the next app session.
- When a device has a priority 1 message and a message with no set priority, the priority 1 message appears first. The message with no set priority appears in the next app session.
- When a device has 2 messages that have no set priority, the message with the most recently modified Journey Builder activity appears first. The next message appears in the next app session.
Two Purchase messages are priority 1. After the user makes a purchase, the most recently modified message appears.
An App Open message is priority 2 and a Purchase message is priority 1. When the user opens the app, the App Open message appears first.
