Basic Audit Trail Metrics

For more in-depth metrics and a longer retention period, use Advanced Audit Trail.

Setup Metrics

Basic Audit Trail logs these events related to setup:

• User authentication, including logins and logouts at the enterprise level, but not at the business unit level
• IP addresses used to access Marketing Cloud Engagement
• Changes to users, user permissions, and roles
• Changes to user passwords

Note Audit Trail doesn’t log an ObjectName value for these events:

• When an admin assigns a custom role to a user
• When an admin assigns a role to a business unit
• When an admin assigns a role to a user of a business unit
• When an admin updates security settings
• When an admin updates user permissions

Installed Package Metrics

Basic Audit Trail logs information about these events related to installed packages:

• Staging and activating client secrets
• Creation, modification, deletion, and licensing of installed packages
• Permission scope changes for package components
• Creation, modification, and deletion of package components
  

  Note Audit Trail doesn’t track deletion events for API Integration or Marketing Cloud App components.
