            Share Email Sending Domains with Marketing Cloud Next

            Share your established sending domains from Marketing Cloud Engagement with Marketing Cloud Next to preserve your domain authentication and brand identity and simplify setup. Shared domains remain active in Marketing Cloud Engagement, so you can send emails concurrently from both products during and after your transition.

            To share and manage email domains, you need the Salesforce Admin role or equivalent permissions. If you use self-hosted DNS records, your IT team and deliverability specialists can also help manage them.

            Before you begin, review this information:

            • To begin, you must have a Marketing Cloud Engagement+ subscription with a connected Org-To-BU mapping established.
            • You can share Sender Authentication Package (SAP) and Private domains only.
            • Salesforce automatically imports the From addresses associated with your selected domains into Marketing Cloud Next.
            • Marketing Cloud Engagement domains delegated to Salesforce may be set to Active immediately after sharing and may be used for Marketing Cloud Next email sends.
            • Self-hosted domains copy over in Draft status. To activate them, add the additional DNS records provided in the Manual DNS Record Information window to your DNS provider.
            • Domain sharing is a one-time copy, not an ongoing connection between the two products. Any configuration changes in either Marketing Cloud Engagement or Marketing Cloud Next after you share the domains apply only to the environment where the update was made.
            • After sharing, From addresses are managed independently in each product.

            To share email sending domains:

            1. In Setup, enter Connect Data in the Quick Find box, then select Connect Data.
            2. Make sure that you're connected to Marketing Cloud Engagement.
              For more information, see Set up connection Data 360.
            3. Under Additional Features, click Manage.
            4. In the Share Domains to Marketing Cloud Next dialog box, select the domains to share.
            5. By default, Salesforce imports all eligible From addresses associated with your selected domains. When many From addresses are associated with a domain, Salesforce displays a summary count. To add From addresses manually instead, deselect the Automatically import From Addresses associated with these domains checkbox.
            6. Click Share.
            7. In the Authenticated Domains page, check the status of the shared domains. Salesforce-managed domains are in Active status and self-hosted domains are in Draft status.
            8. For self-hosted domains, click Show Details, and then complete these steps:
              1. Click Manual DNS Record Information to view the CNAME records in the Additional DNS Records section.
              2. Add the additional DNS CNAME records to your DNS provider. Salesforce adds three new DKIM keys for outbound security and additional inbound routing records are appended with a -um value, such as bounce-um. Don't modify your existing Marketing Cloud Engagement records. You don't need to add a DMARC record because Marketing Cloud Next inherits your existing Marketing Cloud Engagement DMARC policy.
              3. After you add the additional records to your DNS provider, select the confirmation checkbox, then click Activate my Domain.
              4. Verify the domain status in the Authenticated Domains page. When the status is Active, the domain is ready for concurrent sending from Marketing Cloud Engagement and Marketing Cloud Next.
              5. If your DNS values fail validation, an error notification appears indicating which fields didn't pass. Update those values with your DNS provider and verify the domain again.
