Configure Consent Mapping from Marketing Cloud Engagement to Marketing Cloud Next

The next-gen marketing app uses communication subscriptions to manage list membership. To share consent between Marketing Cloud Next and Marketing Cloud Engagement, map engagement lists and publication lists to communication subscriptions for email and SMS.

Required Editions

Available in: Marketing Cloud Engagement Pro+, Corporate+, and Enterprise+ Editions

Before you begin, connect Marketing Cloud Engagement.

After you map the lists, a subscriber's status syncs between apps each time they update their consent.

  1. In the Marketing app, go to the Consent tab.
  2. Click Consent Mapping.
  3. Find the card for the channel you want to update, and click Map Consent.

  4. If your organization uses business units, select a business unit for the mapping configuration.
  5. If you selected SMS, select a Sender Code.
  6. Select one or more engagement lists or publication lists to map.
  7. Click Add Subscription.
  8. Create a communication subscription.
  9. Click Consent Details, and then map each engagement list to the corresponding communication subscription.
  10. Optionally, edit the name of the communication subscription.
  11. Click Map Consent.
