Work with Business Units
After your admin sets up business units, marketers can create campaigns, manage content, and run marketing activities within your assigned business unit.
As a marketer in a business unit, you have a dedicated workspace for your marketing activities. Your business unit has its own campaigns, content, and communication subscriptions that are separate from other business units in your org.
Here's what you can do in your business unit:
- Create and manage campaigns: Build campaigns specific to your audience and goals. For your campaigns, you can select segments only from that business unit's data space and content assets only from the content workspaces that are assigned to that business unit.
- Work with content: Use CMS workspaces to create and organize content for your marketing activities.
- Distribute content across business units: Copy high-performing content from your business unit and post it to common assets so that other business unit members can use it.
- Manage communication subscriptions: Assign communication subscriptions to control how individuals in your business unit receive marketing messages.
- Working with Campaigns in Business Units
When you create a campaign, you must also select a business unit to relate to the campaign. - Working with CMS Workspaces in Business Units
When you create, organize, and share content in a marketing CMS workspace, keep these business unit considerations in mind. - Distribute Content With Common Assets in Business Units
Use common assets to make high-performing content available across business units. Post content to common assets, and members from other business units can copy that content to their own workspace. - Assign a Communication Subscription to Business Units
When you create a communication subscription, you can assign it to either a single business unit or all business units. All existing subscriptions are assigned to all business units. A subscription’s business unit assignment determines which channels can be added to it and in which business units it can be used.
