          Configure Dynamic From Addresses

          Configure Dynamic From Addresses

A Dynamic From Address personalizes the sender information recipients see, using CRM data resolved at send time.

Dynamic From address relies on your authenticated sending domain. For Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) alignment, the domain used in the From address must align with your authenticated sending domain. If your organization sends email from a subdomain such as mail.abc.com, using a personal email address on the root domain as the From address can cause DMARC alignment failures.

When a merge field doesn't resolve to a valid value, Marketing Cloud Next uses the configured fallback address.

How you configure the From address depends on how your organization authenticates its sending domain.

          • Static From address with a dynamic display name: Use this approach when your organization sends email from a subdomain. Marketing Cloud Next sends the email from a static authenticated address, while recipients see a personalized sender name, such as the contact owner. This configuration avoids DMARC alignment failures because the sending address stays on the authenticated subdomain.
          • Dynamic From address: Use this approach when your organization authenticates its root domain, so you can use personal email addresses directly as the From address. Marketing Cloud Next resolves both the display name and the From address from CRM data, such as the account's customer success manager.

Configure a Static From Address with a Dynamic Display Name

          1. In Flow Builder, open the Send Email Message activity.
          2. Under Sender Options, in From Address, select Dynamic Sending.
          3. Under Display Name, select the merge field picker and select the field to use as the display name, such as the contact owner's full name.
          4. Under Select From Address Type, select Static.
          5. Under Authenticated Addresses, search for and select an authenticated address.
          6. Save your changes.

Recipients see the personalized display name while the email is sent from the authenticated address.
