Find the Right User Sync Documentation

Salesforce User Sync was updated on July 20, 2020 with the Summer ’20 release. The process for User Sync setup varies depending on when your business unit was created and if you currently use the legacy version. You can check the current User Sync status in your Business Unit Settings.

Note If you’re setting up a new business unit, use the Account Engagement Setup Implementation Guide.

Confirm your current User Sync status, then follow the setup instructions that apply to your business unit.

  1. Open the settings for your business unit.
    • In Account Engagement, click gear icon and then select Settings.
    • In the Lightning app, select Account Engagement Settings.
  2. Scroll to Salesforce User Sync.
  3. Note which of these scenarios your business unit is in and follow the instructions. .
    Enabled In User Sync Basics, review the sections on User Management and Salesforce Profiles and Account Engagement.
    Enabled, but not opted into Salesforce config Use the Salesforce User Sync Implementation Guide. Alternatively, you can follow the instructions found here in Salesforce Help. This scenario either means you currently have the legacy version of User Sync, or that your business unit was created after the Summer ‘20 release.
    Disabled Follow the instructions in Enable Salesforce User Sync. This scenario means your business unit was created before the Summer ‘20 release and you don’t have User Sync enabled.
