About Personalization Experiences
A personalization experience is a set of instructions for rendering results and specifying where they appear. For example, a personalization experience can define that a personalization point shows product recommendations on every product page, after the "Product Details" section, as soon as the page loads.
Use an experience template to map content schema fields to the front-end output. Select a channel such as web, and then identify the HTML code used to render recommendations.
Here's how a personalization experience fits into a customer's journey.
- A customer browses your website and views several outdoor gear products.
- Salesforce Personalization detects the customer's interest based on their real-time behavior.
- A personalization experience activates and delivers a targeted banner that promotes hiking boots.
- On the web page, the banner appears in the layout defined by an experience template, populated with relevant products based on the customer's Data 360 profile.
Managing and Delivering Personalization Experiences
To create, preview, and manage a personalization experience, use the Web Personalization Manager (WPM). WPM lets you work directly on your website to simulate decisions for specific users and enable or disable configurations in a controlled environment.
- Experience Templates
An experience template provides a structural layout for how personalized content, such as a hero banner or product carousel, appears to customers. The template transforms raw data from the personalization engine into specific variables, such as a product name or image URL, with the help of a guided interface.
