Web Personalization Experiences
Web personalization experiences let your team deliver personalized content on your website without developer involvement for each new experience. Use experience templates to define how content renders, and use the Web Personalization Manager to create, preview, and manage experiences directly on your site.
Web personalization connects three layers:
- Your website - HTML content zones and experience templates that render personalized content.
- Salesforce Data 360 - Unified customer profiles and behavioral data that drive personalization decisions.
- Salesforce Personalization - The engine that matches customers to content and delivers it through your site.
Key Benefits
- Faster time to value - Let developers define experience templates once. You can then create and update experiences independently using the Web Personalization Manager.
- Flexible rendering - Experience templates use HTML and CSS, giving you full control over how personalized content looks and behaves on your site.
- Visual management - The Web Personalization Manager lets you work directly on your website to preview decisions, simulate user profiles, and manage live experiences.
- Closed-loop measurement - Engagement tracking sends view, click, and dismiss events to Data 360, improving future personalization with every interaction.
How It Works
Web personalization is built on four concepts.
- Experience template - An HTML template that maps content schema fields to your site's front-end output. Templates define how personalized content is structured and rendered on the page.
- Content zone - A location on your website where personalized content appears. Content zones are defined in your site's HTML and referenced in personalization experiences.
- Web Personalization Manager (WPM) - A browser-based tool that lets you create, preview, and manage personalization experiences directly on your website.
- Personalization experience - The configuration that delivers personalized content to customers. It connects a personalization point, an experience template, and a content zone, and defines when and where the content appears.
Experience templates and content zones are the technical building blocks. A personalization experience is your configuration that brings them together.
