          Promotion Audience

          Promotion Audience

B2C referral promotions can be targeted either towards your entire customer base or towards specific customer groups. Before you use the B2C Referral Promotion guided flow to design a promotion, decide the promotion’s target audience. If you want to target a specific customer group, you can filter the target audience by using a Data 360 segment or a campaign.

Find Out The Customers Who Are Most Likely to Refer Their Friends

Before you filter your audience, use the Customer Likelihood to Referring dashboard to find out the customers who are most likely to refer their friends. The dashboard scores customers on their probability to refer and provides demographic insights on the probability to refer.

Segment Target Audience by Using Data 360 Segment

You can segment on contacts in your org in Data 360. With Data 360, you can segment the contacts by using the data available in your org and by using the data from external sources. If your company uses Marketing Cloud Next as the promotion communication method, you must select Data 360 segments as the target audience for promotions.

Before you create a promotion that’s targeted towards a segment, ensure that the segment’s status is Active.

To learn how to create Data 360 segments, see Segmentation.

Segment Target Audience by Using Campaign

You can also filter your promotion’s target audience by using campaigns. In a campaign, add the contacts who you want to include as the promotion’s target audience.

To learn how to create campaigns and add contacts as campaign members, see Working with Campaigns and Manage Campaign Members.

What Happens if the Target Audience is Filtered Outside Salesforce

          • Map the filtered target audience to the contacts in the org
          • Add the filtered contacts as members by using reports or the Data Import Wizard

What Happens After Segments or Campaigns are Created
