Managed Dedicated IP Addresses
Managed dedicated IP addresses help reduce the time required to start sending email. Whether sending your first message or scaling to larger audiences, they provide easier access to sending infrastructure that aligns with your business needs as they grow.
As sending volume reaches predefined thresholds, Salesforce transitions your account to a dedicated sending pool of IP addresses. This transition ensures that your infrastructure is right-sized for your current needs and provides a dedicated route to mailbox providers.
Key benefits of managed infrastructure include:
- Elastic resource management: The platform dynamically provisions or recovers IP addresses based on your 30-day sending history pattern. Your infrastructure remains optimally provisioned and reduces the need for additional purchases or manual requests.
- Automated rebalancing: When dedicated sending is enabled, the system rebalances traffic to the new address over a 30-day period. It incrementally shifts sending your email from the shared pool to your dedicated pool until the transition is completed. When additional addresses are required, the system adds them using this same process.
Monitor Your Sending IP Addresses
You can monitor the allocation and status of your IP addresses in Marketing Cloud Next Setup.
- From Setup, enter Unified Messaging in the Quick Find box, then select Unified Messaging.
- Click Email > Settings > Sending IP Addresses and create a permission set.
- Review the Sending IP Addresses table to see your current configuration, pool types, and assigned addresses.
