Request a 10-Digit Long Code for the United States
You can request a 10-digit long code for sending SMS messages in the United States. Processing your code request can take up to 2 business days, depending on how long it takes for carriers and aggregators to provide approval.

- Before you start, verify that you have a registered brand and submitted your campaign request.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter SMS, and then select SMS Codes.
- Click Request Code.
- Select United States or Canada as the country.

Select 10-digit Long Code for the code type, and then click
Next.
10DLC numbers are restricted to domestic messaging. You can only exchange messages with numbers within the same country.
- Enter the total number of unique phone numbers that you want to purchase.
- Select a registered brand and campaign.
- For Selection Preference, select Any to automatically provision the fastest available numbers, or filter by a specific Location, Number prefix, or Zip Code.
- Review the regulatory compliance notices, and then click Next.

If you're requesting 10 or more code, provide a business justification.
For example, "We’re requesting multiple codes to validate message routing across different regions."
- Submit the request.
You can save up to 10 drafts of your requests for brands, campaigns, and codes. Track your progress on the Open Requests tab of the SMS Codes page, where these statuses appear.
- Inactive: A code is available but you must provide more information before it can be activated. These codes can't be used to send SMS messages.
- Active: The code is available and ready to use for sending SMS messages.
- Blocked: The code is blocked due to an expired contract or compliance violations. These codes can't be used to send SMS messages.
- Disabled: The code is no longer available. You can’t renew this code or use it to send SMS messages.
