          Important
Important SMS Messaging in the United States and Canada is highly regulated by US and CA carriers and applicable laws. Salesforce supports the use of sanctioned, carrier-approved sender codes only for US and CA SMS messaging. Review these guidelines and restrictions for using sender codes for SMS sending in the United States and Canada. The information provided doesn’t, and isn’t intended to, constitute legal advice. All information is only for general informational purposes. Consult your own legal counsel for guidance on use cases and applicable legal and industry requirements. The overall registration process can take several weeks, so make sure to plan ahead.
          1. Before you start, verify that you have a registered brand and submitted your campaign request.
          2. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter SMS, and then select SMS Codes.
          3. Click Request Code.
          4. Select United States or Canada as the country.
          5. Select 10-digit Long Code for the code type, and then click Next.
10DLC numbers are restricted to domestic messaging. You can only exchange messages with numbers within the same country.
          6. Enter the total number of unique phone numbers that you want to purchase.
          7. Select a registered brand and campaign.
          8. For Selection Preference, select Any to automatically provision the fastest available numbers, or filter by a specific Location, Number prefix, or Zip Code.
          9. Review the regulatory compliance notices, and then click Next.
          10. If you're requesting 10 or more code, provide a business justification.
For example, "We’re requesting multiple codes to validate message routing across different regions."
          11. Submit the request.

You can save up to 10 drafts of your requests for brands, campaigns, and codes. Track your progress on the Open Requests tab of the SMS Codes page, where these statuses appear.
