SMS Code Provisioning Guidelines

Use an Argentina short code for two-way sends that support marketing and transactional sends. Network carriers require mothly sending rates of at least 100,000 sends per month to keep a short code active. We recommend planning your sending rate as soon as possible before procuring a short code. All short code programs must support HELP and STOP keywork requests. Include FIN and BAJA keywords on all short codes. Conduct marketing sends from Monday through Sunday, 9 AM to 8 PM (UTC−03:00).

Restricted Content

You’re responsible for complying with local rules and regulations. To ensure compliance, familiarize yourself with the legislation of the local market. Failure to comply can result in service suspension, cancellation, and potential fines. Argentina generally forbids content related, but not limited to, these products and services:

  • Adult
  • Gambling
  • Politics

Best Practices and Compliance References

Consider using different alphanumeric codes for marketing and transactional messaging. Telecommunications in Argentina are regulated by Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones and Cámara de Informática y Comunicaciones de la República Argentina.
