          Configure Data Cloud for Unified WhatsApp

          Data Cloud helps you store consent and engagement data for Unified WhatsApp conversations.

          Required Editions

          Note
          Note WhatsApp in Unified Messaging requires the Salesforce Standard Data Model package version 1.69 or later and the UnifiedMessagingConsent package version 1.3 or later. If your account uses earlier versions, you can upgrade them without losing your existing consent data.

          Activate Data Cloud

          Turn on Data Cloud if you haven't already.

          1. On the app launcher, select Data Cloud.
          2. Make sure that Data Cloud is activated. If not, click Get Started, and wait for setup to complete, which takes about 30 minutes.

          Install Your Data Kits

          Complete this one-click installation of data kits, which allow you to manage the required data streams for Unified WhatsApp.

          1. In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Your Numbers, and select Your Numbers.
          2. Under Channel Setup, click Install. This process installs your required data kits for Unified WhatsApp, and it takes 5-10 minutes to complete.

          Install Your Data Streams

          A data stream brings raw data from various sources into Salesforce Data Cloud, transforms it into a standardized format, and keeps it updated for immediate use. Install the four data streams that inform Unified WhatsApp.

          1. Return to the Data Cloud app in the app launcher, and select the Data Streams tab.
          2. Click New.
          3. Click Installed Data Kits & Packages, and click Next.
          4. Deploy the UnifiedWhatsAppPackage Data Stream.
            1. On the Installed Packages tab, select UnifiedWhatsAppPackage.
            2. In the list of packages, select WhatsappEngagement, and click Next.
            3. Deploy the data stream.
          5. Deploy the Consent Audit Trail Data Stream.
            1. Back on the Data Streams tab, click New.
            2. Under Other Sources, select Installed Data Kits & Packages, and click Next.
            3. On the Installed Packages tab, select UnifiedMessagingConsent.
            4. In the list of packages, select the item containing the text ConsentAuditTrail, and click Next.
            5. Deploy the data stream.
          6. Deploy the Messaging Consent Data Stream.
            1. Back on the Data Streams tab, click New.
            2. Under Other Sources, select Installed Data Kits & Packages, and click Next.
            3. On the Installed Packages tab, select UnifiedMessagingConsent.
            4. In the list of packages, select the item containing the text MessagingConsent, and click Next.
            5. Deploy the data stream.
          7. Deploy the Unified Messaging Consent Data Stream.
            1. Back on the Data Streams tab, click New.
            2. Under Connected Sources, select Salesforce CRM, and click Next.
            3. Under Custom Data Bundles, select UnifiedMessagingConsent, and click Next.
            4. Review the list of objects and fields in the bundle, and then click Next.
            5. If a message warns you about conflicts, click Proceed.
            6. Deploy the data stream.
          8. On the Data Streams tab, verify that the value in the Data Stream Status column is Active for each data stream.

          Prepare Your Users for Data 360

          To let marketing or service reps access Unified WhatsApp data, consider giving them one of the user permission sets for Data 360.
