Choose Your Unified WhatsApp Data Residency
Ensure industry and regulatory compliance by selecting the country where your Unified WhatsApp data is stored at rest. While you make your selection in Salesforce Setup, your data storage is managed by Meta. This step is required for companies that comply with GDPR regulations.

Check Your Verification Requirement with Meta
Ensure that the phone number associated with your WhatsApp Business Account is verified.
- Open WhatsApp Manager, and select your WhatsApp Business Account.
- Select a phone number.
- Select Profile, and look for a notification saying, Phone number verification required.
- If the notification is present, select Send verification code, and proceed through verification of the number.
Select a Data Region in Salesforce
- In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Your Numbers, and select Your Numbers.
- Select the Messaging Platform Key associated with the number you'd like to edit data residency for.
- Deactivate any active capabilities.
- In the Data Residency Region (Meta) dropdown, select a region.
- When you see the green success message indicating that your region preference was saved, reactivate your capabilities.
