Work with Anonymization Templates for Salesforce
Anonymization templates in Own’s Anonymize application for Salesforce can be managed through various actions such as creating, configuring, cloning, deleting, and exporting. Objects that are included in both the seeding and anonymization templates can be anonymized as part of the seeding process..
Creating and Configuring Templates
You can create anonymization templates by selecting objects and fields that you want to anonymize. Different replacement options are available based on the field type.
Filtering Object Records
You can define filters that are applied to the object’s fields during an anonymize job to filter the object’s records. Filtering object records enables you to select for anonymization only the most relevant or essential records of a given object.
Manage Anonymization Templates
Templates can be cloned, allowing you to create copies of existing templates. Templates can also be deleted, which removes them from the UI’s Anonymize Templates tab.
Exporting and Importing Templates
Templates can be exported for review, auditing, and sharing purposes. The export option is available from the template’s context menu when the template is in view-only mode. The imported anonymization template’s content entirely replaces the content of the anonymization template that is currently in Edit mode.
These functionalities are accessible through the Anonymize application UI, specifically within the Templates tab, where templates are displayed and managed.
- Create an Anonymization Template for Salesforce
When you create an anonymization template for Salesforce, then the new template automatically displays in the My Templates page, is empty of objects to anonymize, and is in Edit mode, meaning that its content can be modified. - Configure an Anonymization Template for Salesforce
After you create an anonymization template for Salesforce, then the new template is empty of objects to anonymize, and is in Edit mode. Configure the new template with the necessary objects and configure the fields to anonymize, with a replacement value. - Object Record Filters in Anonymization Templates
For each object listed in the Anonymized objects panel of an anonymize template, you can define filters that are applied to the object's fields during an anonymize job to filter the object’s records. Filtering object records enables you to refine the anonymization to be more precise by instructing anonymize processing to select for anonymization only the most relevant or essential records of a given object. Object record filters are only applied during standalone anonymize jobs. - Manage Anonymization Templates
From the Anonymize Templates tab, perform administrative actions on anonymization templates: Clone and Delete. - Exporting and Importing Anonymization Templates for Salesforce
The Anonymize application provides you with the capability to export and import anonymization templates. - Anonymize As Part of a Seeding Job in Salesforce
The Anonymize app can be used as part of a seeding job which enables you to anonymize the seeding source's data - personally identifiable information (PII), sensitive information, classified information - before that data is copied to (seeded in) the destination.
