Your catalog shows these types of MCP servers.

          • Salesforce MCP servers
            • Custom: You create these servers in API Catalog
            • Standard: Salesforce creates these servers and they appear in API Catalog automatically
          • External MCP servers
            • MuleSoft: You sync these servers into API Catalog from MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
            • Manual: You register these servers by using Agentforce Registry or installing from AgentExchange
          Note
Note Salesforce includes a native MCP client that allows agents to connect to MCP servers that access Salesforce data. Servers include Salesforce hosted servers and externally hosted servers for accessing Salesforce data. See Understanding MCP Support Across Salesforce.

To view MCP servers in API Catalog, use these steps.

          1. In Salesforce, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter API Catalog, and then select MCP Servers.
          2. Click the Refresh icon to make sure that you’re viewing the latest information.
          3. To view Salesforce hosted MCP servers, select the Salesforce Servers tab. In this tab, view custom and standard Salesforce MCP server types.
          4. To view MCP servers from MuleSoft and other external sources, select the External Servers tab. In this tab, view MuleSoft and manual external MCP server types.
          • Manage Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers in API Catalog
You can create custom Salesforce MCP servers and view and activate standard Salesforce MCP servers in API Catalog. After you activate the servers and configure a supported MCP client to run them, you can use the servers in Salesforce.
          • Manage External MCP Servers in API Catalog
You can manage MuleSoft and other external MCP servers in API Catalog. Sync MuleSoft MCP servers from Anypoint Platform to make them discoverable in Salesforce. You can manually register other external MCP servers in Agentforce Registry or install them from AgentExchange packages. The external MCP servers are then visible in API Catalog and, when activated, available to use in Agentforce.
          • Remove MCP Servers from API Catalog
You can remove custom Salesforce, MuleSoft, and manually registered external MCP servers from API Catalog.
