Manage Staged Data

View or clear records in the staging area before archiving them.

The staging area stores records imported from AWS S3 sources. After importing data, manage staged data to review what's imported or clear the staging area to start over before creating an archive policy.

Generate a summary report of records in the staging area.

Generate an audit file that shows what records are in the staging area, grouped by object type. The report helps you verify your import before creating an archive policy.

  1. From the Archive Home Page, click the Import Data icon.
  2. Click Generate summary.
  3. In the Generate Summary window, click Generate to confirm.
  4. When the generation completes, go to the Activities tab and download the summary report.

The report contains record counts by object type for all records in the staging area that haven't been archived yet.

Clear Staging Area

Delete all records from the staging area that haven't been archived yet.

Important
Important Clearing the staging area permanently deletes all imported records that haven't been archived yet. This action can't be undone. Make sure that you don't need these records before clearing.
  1. From the Archive Home Page, click the Import Data icon.
  2. Click Delete staged data.
  3. In the Delete Staged Data? window, review the warning and click Delete to confirm.

A confirmation message appears. The staging area is now empty.
