Create and Start a Workflow from a Blueprint in Agentforce Operations
Create a workflow from a blueprint to begin automating your business process. You can start a workflow from anywhere in Agentforce Operations, including from a blueprint list, or from inside an open blueprint.

Before you start a workflow, you need a blueprint. For more information, see Create an Automation Template with a Blueprint in Agentforce Operations.
Each workflow represents an instance of the process defined in a blueprint. A workflow starts running automatically after it's created, and team members receive notifications about their assigned tasks.
Create a Workflow from Anywhere
Use the global create button to start a workflow from any page in Agentforce Operations.
- In the navigation sidebar, click + Create.
- Click Workflow.
- Under the From a blueprint section, search for and select a blueprint.

Enter workflow details for this specific workflow instance.
Which fields to fill out depends on how you set up your blueprint.

Click Create.
The workflow starts running immediately.
Create a Workflow from a Blueprint List
Start a workflow directly from the Blueprints page without opening the blueprint.
- In the navigation sidebar, click Blueprints.
- Find the blueprint that you want to use on the Published blueprints or Drafts blueprints tab.
- Click Create.

Enter workflow details for this specific workflow instance.
Which fields to fill out depends on how you set up your blueprint.

Click Create.
The workflow starts running immediately.
Create a Workflow from an Open Blueprint
Start a workflow while you're viewing or editing a blueprint.
- In the navigation sidebar, click Blueprints.

Open the blueprint that you want to use.
- For a draft blueprint, click Edit.
- For a published blueprint, click Open.
- Click + Create Workflow.

Enter workflow details for this specific workflow instance.
Which fields to fill out depends on how you set up your blueprint.

Click Create.
The workflow starts running immediately.
After the Workflow Starts
Task assignees receive email notifications about their tasks. If a workflow has multiple tasks start at the same time and they're all assigned to one person, that person gets one email with all tasks listed instead of multiple emails. If a task is assigned to an AI agent, the AI agent starts working on it.
Task assignees can complete work directly from their email or by logging in to Agentforce Operations.

For running workflows, authorized users can update task details including Assigned To, Cc, and due date. To update multiple tasks at once, see Bulk Edit Tasks in Agentforce Operations. You can view all workflows on the Home page and filter them if needed.
