Agentforce Operations automates structured business processes by using blueprints, workflows, and AI agents. Learn the concepts and set up your workspace for the first time.

          Required Editions

          License Required

This feature is a workspace that’s external to your Salesforce org and requires an Agentforce Operations license.

To purchase an Agentforce Operations license, contact your Salesforce account executive.

          At a Glance

Agentforce Operations transforms manual, error-prone business processes into automated workflows. You design the process one time as a blueprint, then run it as many times as needed. People complete tasks by using email, a web form, or the workspace. AI agents can handle specialized tasks automatically, with consistent and repeatable results.

For a deeper overview, see About Agentforce Operations.

          Core Concepts

Agentforce Operations organizes work around five connected concepts.

          Blueprint
The template that defines your process. A blueprint contains stages, tasks, and the fields that collect information. You build and configure it one time, then publish it when it's ready. See Designing Automation Templates in Blueprints in Agentforce Operations.
          Workflow
A single run of a blueprint. Each time you start a workflow, it follows the blueprint's stages and tasks from beginning to end. See Run and Manage Automated Workflows in Agentforce Operations.
          Stages
Stages group related tasks within a blueprint. A stage becomes active based on its start condition. For example, at the start of the workflow, when a prior stage is complete, or when conditions you define are true. See Stages in Agentforce Operations.
          Tasks
The individual units of work within a stage. You assign each task to a person, team, role, or AI agent, and each task activates based on its own start condition. See Tasks in Agentforce Operations.
          Fields
How information moves through a workflow. You add fields to tasks to collect data from assignees and can use the field values later in the workflow. Fields can collect information such as a closing date, a PDF document, or an invoice amount. Also, you can export all task data collected in fields. Fields are reusable across blueprints. See Collect Information from Users in Agentforce Operations.

          How the Concepts Connect

You start by building a blueprint. You define the stages that structure the process, the tasks within each stage, and the fields that collect and share the information each task needs. When a task assignee completes a field, you can share that value with downstream tasks, so the information flows forward automatically, without requiring re-entry at each step.

After the blueprint is ready, you publish it and start a workflow. Each workflow is an independent run of that blueprint. For example, you can create a general process of hiring a new employee in the blueprint. Each workflow you run from it tracks a different employee through that process. Tasks activate in sequence based on their start conditions, assignees receive notifications, and fields capture results along the way.

Logging In for the First Time

Agentforce Operations is invite-only. When an admin adds you, you receive a Welcome email with an Accept Invite link. Click the link and follow the prompts to create a password. To log in after that, go to your workspace URL and enter your email and password.

Not everything requires logging in. You can complete tasks by email or web form without a workspace account. For details on access types and what to do if you can't find your invite, see Logging In to Agentforce Operations.

          Get Started Checklist

Here's what to do to get started.

          1. Set up your workspace: Configure branding, business hours, and workspace-wide settings. See Set Up Your Workspace in Agentforce Operations.
          2. Add users and teams: Invite the people who work in your workflows and assign them roles. See Manage Users in Agentforce Operations.
          3. (Optional) Create fields: Build your reusable fields on the Fields page before you start building blueprints so they're ready to add to tasks. You can also create fields directly from within a task. See Create Custom Fields in Agentforce Operations.
          4. (Optional) Connect data sources: If your workflows use external data, such as product catalogs or supplier lists, set them up on the Admin page before you build blueprints that reference them. See Using External Data in Agentforce Operations.
          5. Build a blueprint: Design your process with stages and tasks, add fields to collect information, configure assignees, and set start conditions. See Designing Automation Templates in Blueprints in Agentforce Operations.
          6. (Optional) Set up AI agents: Learn how AI agents work and configure them for tasks. See Assigning Tasks to AI Agents in Agentforce Operations.
          7. Start a workflow: Publish your blueprint and run it for the first time. See Run and Manage Automated Workflows in Agentforce Operations.
