With smart rules, you can show, hide, or require form items based on conditions. Use smart rules to create dynamic forms that adapt to the information task assignees provide. For example, show additional fields only when the assignee selects certain options. Or require a field only when field values meet specific criteria.

Restriction Smart rules can only be added to form items that appear after at least one field in the form.

You can add smart rules to these form items: sections, fields, and instruction text. Smart rules evaluate conditions based on values from fields earlier in the form.

          1. Create a blueprint or edit an existing blueprint.
          2. In the blueprint, create a task or open an existing task.
          3. In the Request information section, build your form with sections, fields, and other items.
          4. To add a smart rule to a section, field, or instruction text, click the gear icon for the item.
            The configuration section opens.
          5. In the Smart rules section, click + Add rule.
          6. Select a rule type from the dropdown list.
            • Show: Shows the item when the condition is true.
            • Hide: Hides the item when the condition is true.
            • Require: Requires the item when the condition is true. Prevents submitting the form if the required item is empty. Require is available only on fields.
          7. Add your first condition.
            1. Select a prior field in the form to base the condition on.
            2. Select an operator for the condition to evaluate the field value with. For example, Is equal to, Is greater than, or Is empty.
            3. If applicable, enter the value for the field that sets the condition.
          8. Optionally, add more conditions and use condition groups to configure complex logic.
            1. To add another condition at the same level, click + Add condition and select and or or to define how the conditions relate to each other.
The and option requires all conditions to be true. The or option requires at least one condition to be true.
            2. To create a nested group of conditions, click + Add condition group and add the nested conditions.
Condition groups make it possible to build more complex logic. You can't add a condition group inside another condition group.
          9. Click Add.

When a task assignee completes the form, Agentforce Operations evaluates the smart rules based on the values they enter and shows, hides, or requires items accordingly.

          Note
Note You can also set an item as always required (regardless of conditions) in the Behavior section of the configuration panel. Select Required to prevent submitting the form if the item is empty.
