Split a Task into Duplicate Tasks in Agentforce Operations

Spawn multiple run-time instances of a single task based on a multi-value field in Agentforce Operations.

          Required Editions

          License Required

This feature is a workspace that’s external to your Salesforce org and requires an Agentforce Operations license.

To purchase an Agentforce Operations license, contact your Salesforce account executive.

          Role or Access Needed
To edit a blueprint in Agentforce Operations: Admin role, Creator role, or a user with Edit access for the blueprint

When you split a task, Agentforce Operations creates a separate instance of the task for each value in a multivalue field. Use task splitting to process multiple items in parallel without manually duplicating the same task for each item. For example, split a supplier review task to create one task per supplier when a workflow collects a list of suppliers. You can split standard, approval and linked blueprint tasks.

You can also assign split tasks to AI agents. Learn more in Assign a Task to an AI Agent in Agentforce Operations

          1. In the navigation sidebar, click Blueprints.
          2. Locate the blueprint and click Edit.
          3. Click + Task.
          4. Open the Advanced section.
          5. For Split this task into multiple based on, select the multi-select, people, role, document, or data source field from earlier in the blueprint to split on.
If you’re splitting on a people or role field, the task will automatically be assigned to that people or role field. Each assignee gets a task assigned to them.
          6. Enter the rest of the task information.
          7. Click Add.

Agentforce Operations creates a task instance for each value in the selected field, up to a maximum of 50 split instances per task.
