Pause a Salesforce Service in Backup & Recover for Salesforce
Limit access to your data during proof of concept or testing periods. By pausing instead of archiving, you can specify when to resume backups and avoid losing backup coverage.
Pausing backups in a service can be useful when:
- You want to limit access to your data during proof of concept or other testing periods.
- You want to allocate resources to other processes, such as automations and external tools.
You can pause data services, metadata services, production backup services, and sandbox backup services.
- On the Services page, select the production or sandbox service you want to pause.
- From the Options tab, and select the General tab.
- IClick Pause or Archive Service.
- Select Pause backups for, and then select the number of days to pause the backups for (up to 14 days).

Click Pause.
You get a confirmation message.
After the pause period ends, the service resumes backing up automatically.
You can resume backups at any time from this page.
Note Archiving or pausing a backup service generates an event (which appears in the Auditing
tab of the Account Settings page), and sends an email. Unarchiving or unpausing a backup
service generates an event, but doesn't send an email.
