Essential Service Options in Backup & Recover for Salesforce

Essential Service Options in Backup & Recover for Salesforce

Configure and optimize your Salesforce backup services to meet your business needs. For example, you can schedule automatic backups for off-peak hours, pause or archive a service, or set retention policies to comply with regulations.

General

On the General tab, from the three dots menu in the top right, you can:

  • Pause or Archive the Service
  • Delete the service and its backups.

In the General tab, you can:

  • Change the name and subtitle from the default names given when creating the backup service.
  • In the Authentication section you can:

    • Change the authenticated user
    • Update the custom domain
    • Re-authenticate the service
  • In the Schedule section you can:

    • Change the time and day for automatic backups.
  • In the Data Classification section you can:

    • Select if Service contains production data.

Seeding uses this to identify non-production services that contain production data. Based on your user role, Data Protection mandates that seeding into such services includes anonymization as part of the job.

  • In the Blockchain Verify section you can:

    • Set this service to Blockchain Verify.

Retention

Edit your retention policy. See Backup Retention Policies in Backup & Recover for Salesforce.

Configure Files and Special Objects

The name of this tab and the options available depend on your service type. In a Sandbox, the tab is called Files and Special Objects. In Data, it's called Special Objects.

The Files section only appears in Sandbox Services. In this section you can:

  • Select to Include files in the backups of this sandbox (Default: On)

In the Special Objects section you can:

  • Select Backup Knowledge Articles.
  • To turn on Custom Big Objects, contact support.
