          Custom Libraries Tab

          Custom Libraries Tab

Use the Custom Libraries tab to view, create, edit, activate, and delete custom libraries for masking policies.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with the Salesforce Data Mask add-on license.

The Custom Libraries page displays all the custom libraries for either a sandbox or your production org (the All Custom Libraries view). To access the Custom Libraries page, select the Custom Libraries tab from the Data Mask & Seed app.

          Note
Note Data Mask & Seed and the Data Mask managed package share all custom libraries. Custom libraries created using either one of these apps are listed and available for use in the custom libraries page of the other app.

When no custom libraries are currently defined for the sandbox/production org, the page displays empty. Each custom library is a collection of user-defined values, such as text strings or email addresses, that you can use in a masking policy to mask field data. For details, see Custom Libraries Overview.

For each listed custom library, the UI presents the following columns of information, as available, from left to right:

          • Name - you can click the name to open the custom library page. The displayed custom library is in view-only mode.
          • Description
          • Type - either User Defined (created by you or another admin), or Out-of-the-Box (provided by Salesforce)
          • Content Type - either Email, or String
          • Active - the selected checkbox identifies that the custom library is activated for use
          • Last Modified Date - in the format MM/DD/YYYY, HH:MM AM/PM
          • Last Modified By - user name
          • The far right column of each listed custom library presents a down-arrow. Clicking it displays the following menu of task options:
            • Edit - opens the Edit custom library dialog. In the dialog, you can update the library’s name, description, or both of these fields
            • Delete - opens the Delete Custom Library dialog. You can delete the custom library mentioned in the dialog
            • Clone - opens the New Custom Library dialog to clone this listed custom library. For details, see the Clone description in the Page Ribbon section below
            • Activate/Deactivate - the presented option depends on the current Active state of the custom library. Use this option either to activate a currently inactive library or to deactivate a currently active library

In the Custom Libraries page, click on a custom library name to open the custom library page.

          Page Ribbon

Across the top of every custom library page is the page’s ribbon. The ribbon displays the following info and provides the following UI utilities:

          • The custom library name
          • Description: The description of the custom library, if provided
          • Type: The type of custom library, which is User Defined
          • Content Type: The content type of the library’s info entries, either Email, or String
          • Active: When checkbox is selected, the custom library is activated and available for selection in masking policies. When checkbox is cleared, the library is inactive and unavailable for selection in policies.
          • Edit: This button opens the Edit custom library dialog. In the dialog, you can update the library’s name, description, or both of these fields
          • Delete: This button opens the Delete Custom Library dialog. You can delete the custom library mentioned in the dialog
          • Clone: This button opens the New Custom Library dialog. For the cloning of the source custom library, you must enter a different name for the new custom library. You can update the description, the content type, or both of these fields. The source custom library’s info entries, Type, and Active status are copied into the new (cloned) custom library. The UI opens the new custom library page in view-only mode
          • Down-arrow: This button opens a menu presenting either one of the following options (the presented option depends on the library’s current activation state):
            • Activate - select this option to activate a currently inactive library
            • Deactivate - select this option to deactivate a currently active library

          Manage Library Area

The Manage Library area of every custom library page provides the following UI utilities:

          • Add Values Manually field: Enter each info entry that you want to add into the custom library
          • Quick Find field: Enter characters to search the library for matching values. The search is case sensitive and matches from the start of each value (prefix search only).
            Note
Note This field doesn’t display when the library is empty of values
          • Add button: Click to add the info entry, provided in the Add Value Manually field, into the custom library
          • Delete All link: Click to delete all info entries from the custom library
          • Save Library Settings/Edit Library Settings button: When the custom library page is in view-only mode, this button displays Edit Library Settings. When the page is in Edit mode, the button displays Save Library Settings. Select the button to toggle between its functional modes.
          • Create with Einstein button: Click to work with Salesforce’s Einstein utility to generate values and add them to a custom library
