          Home Page

The Data Mask & Seed Home page provides you, the Salesforce admin, with descriptions of the application’s features and the UI utilities for beginning your work with the new Data Mask & Seed application. To access the Home tab, search for and select Data Mask & Seed in the App Launcher. The UI opens the Home tab displaying the Data Mask & Seed Home page.

The new Data Mask & Seed Home page includes:

          • Purpose and features section: Learn about the app’s purpose and key features.
          • Associated PII section: Review associated PII (personally identifiable information) contained in object records (see Sandbox PII section below).
            Note
Note This section is not available in the Data Mask & Seed Home page of a production org.
          • Coming Next section: Learn about upcoming new features and capabilities.

          Sandbox PII

When you are logged in to a sandbox (in contrast to a production org), the Home page provides the Associated PII section. This section presents three tiles. Each tile displays the number of PII-containing records for each one of three different sandbox objects - Case Comments, Email Messages, and Chatter Comments. When the number of PII-containing records is greater than zero (> 0) for any of these objects, the relevant tile’s Delete button is turned on. Click Delete to run a masking job that removes these PII-containing records from their sandbox object. Running this specific masking job doesn’t require you to first create an applicable masking policy.

          User Permissions

To access and work with the new Data Mask & Seed application, assign users the following Permission Set License and Permission Set. Make sure to assign the Permission Set License before assigning the Permission Set:
