Monitor Masking Jobs from the Jobs Tab
Access the Data Mask & Seed Jobs tab to monitor running and completed masking jobs, view job details, and cancel jobs in progress. The Jobs tab is only available in sandboxes.

The Jobs page displays the currently pinned, list view of your sandbox masking jobs, which includes both running jobs and completed jobs. To access the page, select the Jobs tab from the Data Mask & Seed app.
The Jobs page offers you the following choice of list views:
- All jobs - display all masking jobs
- Automatic after refresh - display only masking jobs that are automatically run following sandbox refresh
- Automatic after refresh - display only masking jobs that are automatically run following sandbox refresh
- My view - display a customized list view of masking jobs where you choose which fields (columns) appear and their order
- Recently viewed - display recently viewed masking jobs
- Scheduled jobs - display only masking jobs started by schedule
When the selected list view has no masking jobs, the page displays the message ‘Nothing to see here’.
For each listed masking job, the UI presents the following columns of information, from left to right:
- Name - the masking job's session id, in the form DM-<nnnnnnnnnn>, such as DM-0000000153. You can click the session id to open the Job Session <session id> page that reports masking job details
- Policy Name - name of the policy that the masking job used
Note If in the Associated PII section of the Data Mask & Seed Home page, you clicked the Delete button for any of the sandbox objects Case Comments, Email Messages, or Chatter Comments, the application launched a masking job to delete the records from these objects. In the Jobs page, the associated Policy Name column of these masking job entries displays either Delete Case Comments, Delete Email Messages or Delete Chatter Comments. - Status - masking job status, either Running, Completed, Completed with Errors, or Canceled
- Start Time (local machine) - date (MM/DD/YYYY), time (HH:MM AM/PM) that the masking job started running
- End Time (local machine) - date (MM/DD/YYYY), time (HH:MM AM/PM) that the masking job completed
- Type - Manual (job started by user from the UI) or Scheduled (job started automatically by a user-defined schedule)
- Each row (listed job) has a down-arrow icon in the far-right column. Select it to display
a menu with the following options:
- View Details - opens the Job Session <session id> page that reports masking job details
- Cancel Job - (available only while the job is running) opens the Cancel Job dialog. Select ‘Cancel’ to stop the masking job.
Job Session Page
Each Job Session page reports details about a specific masking job. Masking jobs are identified by their assigned session id. The Job Session page provides the following sections:
- Page Header
- Summary
- Success
- Errors
Page Header
Across the top of the Job Session <session id> page is the page’s header that provides the following info:
- Breadcrumbs: ‘Jobs > Job Session’. Select ‘Jobs’ to return to the Jobs page
- <session id>: The masking <session id>, which in in the form DM-<nnnnnnnnnn>, for example DM-0000000153
- Policy Name: The name of the policy that the masking job used
- Start Time (local machine) - date (MM/DD/YYYY), time (HH:MM AM/PM) that the masking job started running
- End Time: (local machine) - date (MM/DD/YYYY), time (HH:MM AM/PM) that the masking job completed
- Duration: The amount of processing time of the masking job
- Errors: The number of object records in which the masking job encountered errors
Summary
When you open a Job Session <session id> page, its Summary section displays. This section lists each object that was processed for masking. Select the right-pointing arrow next to an object to display processing details:
- Loading Records: The number of object records that the job loaded to be masked
- Masking Records: The number of loaded object records that the job successfully masked. The detail provides both a count of masked record/loaded records, and a percent representation
Success
The Success section displays the total number (n) of successfully masked records. Select the section's right-pointing arrow to display processing detail about the successful masking.
Errors
The Errors section displays the total number (n) of records that failed to be masked, due to processing errors encountered by the job. The section provides a table of errors that are grouped per error type. Each error type displays a sample of failed records (a maximum of 10 records). Error messages provide precise details, including problematic record IDs and offending fields. If the masking job fails, this section reports the failure reason.
