User Permissions Needed
To connect Jira with Lifecycle Center: Lifecycle Center Admin
To import Jira work items: Lifecycle Center Admin or Lifecycle Center User

Connecting a Jira workspace is a one-time setup for your Lifecycle Center Hub org. After you authorize the connection, you can import Jira work items at any time.

Note
Note Lifecycle Center uses OAuth to authorize the connection. You don't have to create a Jira API token or configure the integration in Jira in advance.

Before connecting Jira, verify these requirements:

  • You have the Lifecycle Center Admin permission.
  • Your organization uses Jira Cloud at an atlassian.net domain.
  • You have Jira credentials with access to the workspace that you want to connect.

Connect a Jira Workspace

Authorize Lifecycle Center to access your Jira workspace.

  1. On the Lifecycle Center Home tab, click Manage Features.
  2. In the Jira Integration section, click Connect.
The Jira Integration section in Lifecycle Center Home tab.
You're redirected to Jira's authorization screen.
  3. Log in to Jira and authorize Lifecycle Center to access your Jira workspace.

Import Jira Work Items

Select and import Jira work items into a Lifecycle Center project.

  1. From Lifecycle Center, go to the Work Items tab, then click Import from Jira.
  2. Select the Lifecycle Center project in which you want to create the Jira work items, then click Next.
  3. Select a Jira project from the project dropdown list.
  4. Select the Jira work items to import.
Select Jira issues — filter by project, search by key or summary, and select issues to import.

Use the project filter or search by summary to find the Jira work items. To exclude work items that were imported previously, select Hide Previously Imported Work Items.

  5. Click Next.
  6. Review the selected Jira work items and select a Lifecycle Center assignee for each one.
  7. Click Import Work Items.
Lifecycle Center creates one work item for each selected Jira work item. The new work item's subject and description are populated from the Jira summary and description. The Jira work item URL is stored in the Jira reference.
Important
Important Imported information is a snapshot. Changes made later in Jira don't update the Lifecycle Center work item. Changes made to the Lifecycle Center work item, including status changes, don't update Jira.
