When you enable the Grant Access Using Hierarchies setting in a queue, records shared with the queue are automatically shared with the queue members’ superiors in the role hierarchy. The org-level setting Grant access using hierarchies by default in new queues controls the default value of the queue-level setting.
This setting doesn't affect existing queues, and you can still modify the individual Grant Access Using Hierarchies setting on each queue.
