Momentum Requirements

Momentum Requirements

Before setting up Momentum, confirm that your org has the required external accounts and Salesforce features, and check whether any incompatible features are enabled. Momentum requires Google Workspace, Data 360, and Einstein Generative AI. Momentum isn’t compatible with Einstein Activity Capture or Einstein Conversation Insights.

External Account Requirements

Momentum requires a connection to Google Workspace. Your Google calendar must be connected and sync to Salesforce to automatically record video calls with Momentum.

Required Salesforce Features

Einstein Generative AI: If it’s not already enabled, Momentum turns on Einstein Generative AI during the setup process. You can't turn off Einstein Generative AI while Momentum is in use.

Data 360: Momentum uses Data 360 to store and process video call data transcripts, recordings, and metadata. You must get access to and set up Data 360 before you can turn on Momentum. The Momentum setup process automatically installs the Data 360 Momentum Data Kit in your org. Other data transformations or calculated insights may result in Data 360 consumption-based billing. If you use Data 360 independently or with other Salesforce features, standard Data 360 pricing and billing apply for those products and services.

Usage with Einstein Conversation Insights

Because Momentum is an independent video call capture tool, Momentum is incompatible with any previous use of Einstein Conversation Insights (ECI). If you’ve ever enabled ECI, you can’t turn on Momentum.

If you have used ECI and want to turn on Momentum, contact Salesforce Customer Support.

Turn Off Einstein Activity Capture

Momentum is incompatible with Einstein Activity Capture (EAC). Salesforce relies on the same infrastructure to sync events and capture email data in both Momentum and EAC, so they can’t operate simultaneously. If EAC is turned on, disconnect from your Google account, turn off EAC, and then reset EAC before setting up Momentum. If you have EAC setup with global authorization with EAC, you automatically disconnect from Google when you turn off EAC. If you have EAC setup with user authorization, every individual user must disconnect their own account before you turn off EAC.

If you set up EAC with user level authorization, every user must disconnect their own account after you turn off EAC. You can’t turn on Momentum until every user account is disconnected. Communicate with your users and share with them these two steps to disconnect.

You can turn on Momentum after you turn off EAC.

Disconnect the Connected Account

If you set up EAC with user level authorization, every user must disconnect their own account after you turn off EAC. You can’t turn on Momentum until every user account is disconnected. Communicate with your users and share with them these two steps to disconnect.

If you set up EAC with global authorization, skip this step.

  1. From personal settings, in the Quick Find box, enter Connected Accounts, and then select Email and Calendar Accounts.
  2. For each account, click Disconnect.

Turn Off and Reset Einstein Activity Capture

After you turn off and reset EAC, you can turn on and set up Momentum. If you use EAC with global authorization, your connected account automatically disconnects when you turn off EAC.

  1. From Setup, use Quick Find to search for and select Einstein Activity Capture.
  2. From the Settings tab, turn off Einstein Activity Capture.
  3. Go to Settings. On the Summary tab, use the menu to Reset Einstein Activity Capture.

After EAC is reset, you can set up Momentum.
