Test your Workato data integrations in a Salesforce Spiff sandbox and use the same recipes and connections as your production environment. If your organization has purchased the Spiff connector in Workato, Workato is available in your sandbox from Data Automation in Connectors. Copy recipes from your production workspace to validate commission logic before you push changes to production.
Test Workato Integrations in a Salesforce Spiff Sandbox
Where: This change applies to Salesforce Spiff.
Why: Previously, sandboxes didn't support Workato, making it difficult to mirror your production data environment for testing. Now, you can configure Workato in a sandbox with the same experience as production. For example, you can copy and reuse existing recipes and connections without re-creating them from scratch. A sandbox uses your production company's Workato account. A warning banner in the Workato window keeps you informed when other users make changes in a shared workspace. Some settings, such as the notification email and time zone on the Webhook Settings page, are read only in a sandbox to protect your production configuration.
How: To configure Workato in a sandbox, first create a webhook in the sandbox company: from Admin, select Settings, then select Webhook Settings, and click Add Webhook. Copy the webhook ID and secret from the confirmation window. In Workato, add a new Spiff connection and use these sandbox-specific credentials. In your sandbox, select Admin, then select Connectors and click Data Automation to open the Workato window. Copy recipes from your production workspace and configure them to use the new sandbox connection.
Important: Adding a Workato connection for a sandbox counts against the connector limit in your Workato contract and can result in extra costs. Contact your Salesforce account executive to review your contract before setting up Workato in a sandbox.
