Salesforce Spiff Release Notes for June 23, 2026

Salesforce Spiff Release Notes for June 23, 2026

Insert live Spiff data into compensation plan document templates without a separate spreadsheet upload. In the Document Designer, dynamic merge fields pull values directly from Spiff user records—including email, team names, plan assignment names, and any fields synced from connected data sources. Field values populate when you preview the document or send it for approval, so templates always reflect current Spiff data.

Insert Live Spiff Data into Document Templates

Where: This change applies to Salesforce Spiff.

Why: Previously, adding compensation data to a document template required exporting that data from Spiff and uploading it as a merge fields spreadsheet. When data changed, the spreadsheet needed a fresh export and re-upload to stay current. Dynamic merge fields eliminate that manual cycle. Built-in Spiff fields—including a user's email address, preferred currency, active plan assignments, team memberships, and quota names—are now available directly in the Document Designer. If your org integrates with Salesforce, Workday, or another connected system, connector fields from those systems are also available as merge fields, so any data already synced into Spiff can appear in your documents.

How: In Spiff, go to Documents > Templates. Open or create a template, click inside the document where you want to insert a field, and locate the Merge Fields section in the right panel. Under Spiff or your connected data source name, browse or search for the field you want to insert. To add dynamic merge fields, you need the Documents: Manage and Document Templates: Edit permissions. For step-by-step instructions, see Add Dynamic Merge Fields to a Document Template in Salesforce Help.
