Boundary Data Updates
Third-party vendors provide boundary data in Salesforce Maps, such as zip codes. These vendors validate the information with governmental and administrative sources. Updates take several months to appear in Salesforce Maps.
Update Frequency by Region
Update schedules vary by region.
| REGION | UPDATE FREQUENCY |
|---|---|
| North America and Western Europe | Vendors receive monthly or quarterly updates from governmental sources. |
| Other Regions | Update schedules vary by country and don't follow a regular cadence. |
How Boundary Updates Reach Salesforce Maps
- Third-party vendors validate boundary data with governmental and administrative sources for each country.
- Salesforce receives the validated data from vendors.
- Salesforce tests and validates the data.
- Salesforce releases updated boundaries in the next major release.
After Salesforce releases new boundaries, add them to new and existing Shape Layers. See the Salesforce Release Notes for information about when to expect updated boundary data.
