Assign Salesforce Maps Routes to Non-User Objects

Extend desktop route management beyond individual user assignments by assigning routes to non-user objects, such as vehicles or trucks.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
User Permissions Needed
To configure route objects: Customize Application
  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Object Manager, and then select Object Manager.
  2. Open the Maps Route object.
  3. On the Fields & Relationships tab, create a Lookup field to the object that you want to assign routes to (for example, Vehicle).
  4. Save the field.
  5. Open Salesforce Maps.
  6. On the Routes tab, click New and create a route.
  7. In the search box, search for and select the non-user object.
  8. Select the date that the route is scheduled for, and then click Save.
