Select a Search Method for Salesforce Maps

Choose how Salesforce Maps queries records. SOQL, the default, returns up to three records per object and works well for smaller datasets. SOSL returns a broader range of results (up to 100 records across the search) and performs better for large datasets.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
User Permissions Needed
To configure the search method: Customize Application
  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Installed Packages, and then select Installed Packages.
  2. Find the Salesforce Maps package, and then click Configure.
  3. Open the global preferences settings.
  4. Set the search method.
    • For smaller datasets, select SOQL.
    • For large datasets, select SOSL.
  5. Save.
