Plan Assignment External IDs in Salesforce Spiff

In Salesforce Spiff, the external ID field on a plan assignment supports bulk uploading and updating of plan assignments with Mass Data Management.

Available in: both Salesforce Classic (not available in all orgs) and Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions

Available for an additional cost in: Professional Edition with Web Services API Enabled

External ID values must be unique.
You can add an external ID only to plan assignments that don't have one.
To help avoid errors, an external ID in a plan assignment table is permanent.
If you create a plan assignment from the Plans page or with the uploader and you leave the external ID blank, you can still edit the plan assignment.
After you assign an external ID, the ID is always required for future updates with the uploader.
If you create a plan assignment with the uploader and specify an external ID, always use the same external ID for future updates.
