Work with Insights Prompt Templates

Set up and customize standard prompt templates to tailor AI-driven insights to your business needs, improve system control, and optimize resource use.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with the Einstein for Platform, or Einstein or Agentforce for Sales or Service add-on, or Agentforce Foundations, with Data Cloud enabled and the Customer Signals Intelligence add-on.

To create and edit prompt templates in Prompt Builder: Prompt Template Manager permission set

Use Prompt Templates

Apply the out-of-the-box prompt templates to help the large language model (LLM) generate insights on contact reasons, customer sentiments, key phrases, and product or company names.

  1. From Setup, use Quick Find to open Prompt Builder.
  2. The Customer Signals Intelligence prompt templates each map to an AI service. Search for the template you want to use. This table shows the AI service for each prompt.
    Prompt Associated AI Service Prompt Description
    Extract Topics Contact Reason Extraction Extracts topics from text.
    Extract Targeted Sentiment Targeted Sentiment Extracts targeted sentiments from text, specifically sentiments that are linked to objects or topics.
    Extract Customer Sentiment Sentiment Extracts customer sentiment from text.
    Extract Objects Entity Extraction Extracts objects from text.
    Extract Keyphrases Key Phrase Extraction Extracts keyphrases from text.
    Extract Product Insights Product Insights Extraction Extracts information about specific products from text.
  3. Click the prompt template to open it and enter your input text.
  4. To see a preview of the generated insights, click Preview.

Modify Prompt Templates

Edit out-of-the-box prompt templates to align them with your specific business requirements.

  1. From Setup, use Quick Find to open Prompt Builder.
  2. Search for the prompt you want to edit and click to open it.
  3. Modify the prompt instructions with details specific to your business needs. While you can’t change the prompt’s output format, you can edit other parts of the prompt. For example, you can add specific product names, match your compliance standards by editing guidelines and adding explicit instructions, identify key business terms, and modify length requirements.
  4. When you’re done, click Save As and select Save as a New Version. The new version appears in the Versions menu.
  5. To activate your new version, click Activate.
