          Create a Custom Field on the Source Object

          Create the custom field on Service Appointment, Interaction, or both objects before mapping it in the context definition.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions
          User Permissions Needed
          To create a custom field on the source object: Workforce Scheduling Manager
          1. From Setup, select Object Manager.
          2. Select the object where you want the field (for example, Service Appointment).
          3. Select Fields & Relationships, and then click New.
          4. Select the data type for the field (for example, Text, Date, or Number), and then click Next.
          5. Enter the field details.
            1. Field Label: The display name for the field.
            2. Field Name: The API name.
            3. Length, Decimal Places, or Help Text as needed for the selected data type.
          6. Set field-level security to control which profiles can view or edit the field, and then click Next.
          7. Select the page layouts that should display the field, and then click Save.

          Repeat these steps for each object that needs the custom field. For example, if scheduling flows reference both Service Appointment and Interaction, create the field on both objects.
