The Start Populating Data toggle in Salesforce Go turns on lifecycle tracking to capture historical service appointment changes in Enhanced Scheduling and Optimization Insights.
Turn On Lifecycle Tracking
You can activate lifecycle tracking through the guided setup or manually in settings:
- Salesforce Go: Navigate to the Enhanced Scheduling and Optimization section, and switch the Start Populating Data toggle to On.
- Field Service Settings: In Setup, go to Field Service Settings, and select Track the lifecycle of service appointments.
How It Works in Enhanced Scheduling and Optimization
Data collection begins immediately upon activation, ensuring all future changes are logged for analysis. Because Enhanced Scheduling and Optimization relies on this specific data stream, turn on this option to ensure your dashboards populate with meaningful metrics. Enable this setting early to build a robust dataset for comprehensive trend analysis, including:
- Status transitions: Movement between stages like Scheduled or In Progress to identify bottlenecks.
- Time variance: Differences between scheduled and actual times to measure plan accuracy.
