What’s New in Click Field Service Edge for Fuji MR19

Learn about the new features and enhancements that are part of the Service Edge Fuji MR19 release.

          Release Highlights

Fuji MR19 release focuses on improving product trust and providing the highest level of security.

As announced recently, Salesforce is retiring Click Field Service Edge. The official end-of-life date is December 31, 2026. Since the ClickSoftware acquisition in October 2019, Salesforce recommends migrating to the Salesforce Field Service product. Review Salesforce Field Service and contact your Account Executive to start planning the migration process.

From Fuji MR17, the product documentation is available in Salesforce Help.

          Security and Trust

          • Windows 10 end-of-support

Microsoft has recently announced that Windows 10 will reach end-of-support on October 14, 2025. Field Service Edge is already certified with Windows 11 and we recommend starting an internal discussion about this transition.

          • Adoption: Using Google Authenticator for multi-factor authentication

Twilio’s text messaging service is planned to be decommissioned from FSE by the end of the year. To increase service stability and availability, customers should transition from Twilio’s text messaging services to Google Authenticator.

          Platform

          • Change in data retention policy for file attachments

When using a FSE mobile solution, customers might need to retain file attachments for business purposes such as audits, safety information, a holistic view of service records, or completeness of work orders. The data retention policy for file attachments is extended to 180 days to accommodate this need.

          Mobile

          • Maps solution for Windows users

Map View for Windows users is changing and will be transitioned to a new data provider later this year.

          • Map token rotation message

While using the map, end-users will be requested to save their work and invoke a key rotation. The process will take place every 3 months to meet security and privacy regulations.

          • Windows app: choose the size of the log file

Mobile end-users will be able to choose the size of the local log file, limited to 500 MB.

          • Upgrade to the Cordova component for the Android app (Android 14 enablement)

An upgrade took place to the Cordova component of Android app from version 12.0.0 to 13.0.0 to support Android 14 (SDK 34). As part of this upgrade, unnecessary plugins that were no longer in use were removed and some mandatory code changes were made in the Foreground Service plugin, used for the location services (i.e. compatibility with Android 14).
