            Create a Custom Batch Job for IT Assets

            Automate mass lifecycle transitions for hardware assets to save time and reduce errors. Configure a custom batch job to process large volumes of assets dynamically by using standard filter criteria or an uploaded CSV file.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience
            Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service.
            User Permissions Needed
            To create a batch job Salesforce admin profile
            To manage flows Manage Flows system permission

            Specify an active flow to customize the execution process to your specific business requirements. If you use a file-based batch job, ensure the CSV file contains a column named exactly Id and includes a maximum of 10,000 asset record IDs.

            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Batch Management.
            2. Select New.
            3. Enter a Name and API Name for the batch job.
            4. For Process Type, select Flow.
            5. In the Execution Process, find and select the active flow you want to run.
            6. Set Group, Batch Size (up to 2,000), Retry Count (up to 3), and Retry Interval, then select Next.
            7. Select a Flow Input Variable that uniquely identifies each record.
            8. Select Asset as the target object.
            9. Define the Conditions for processing records by selecting a method:
              • Filter Criteria: Select standard static filter conditions to select records for the batch job.
              • File Input (CSV Upload): Select this configuration type to support large-volume processing. Provide an input variable that stores the uploaded file's ContentDocumentId.
            10. Select Save and then Activate.
              Note
              Note You can't edit active batch jobs.

            To track the real-time progress and health of your bulk actions, go to Monitor Workflow Services in Setup. You can view the overall status, drill down into successfully processed records, or isolate error messages for failed records.
